What does OCELOT mean in Scrabble?
noun
A medium-sized wild cat with a yellowish coat marked by dark spots and stripes, native to Central and South America and the southern United States.
The ocelot hunts mainly at night, moving through forest and scrub in search of small mammals, birds and reptiles, and its patterned coat once made it a target of the fur trade before hunting protections were introduced. Roughly twice the size of a large house cat, it is more closely related to the margay than to the jaguar despite similar markings. The name reached English through French from an older Nahuatl word for the animal.
