This site is a word game helper: you look up words, check scores and search dictionaries. You do not need an account, and we do not ask you for your name, email address or payment details.
What we store
- Server logs. Like any website, our server records each request — the address requested, the time, your browser’s user agent and your IP address. We use these for security, to find faults and to block abuse. Logs are rotated automatically.
- Your settings. Which dictionaries you switched on, how many results you want and whether to show scores — stored in cookies in your own browser, not on our server.
We do not build user profiles, and we do not sell data.

- Your dictionary and display settings — which dictionaries are switched on, how many results to show and whether to show scores.
- Your answer to the question about advertising cookies.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you do, your settings simply return to the defaults.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are used and where problems are. Google receives data about your visit, including your IP address, and processes it under its own terms. See Google’s privacy policy.
Advertising
Pages on this site may show advertising supplied by Google AdSense. When ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies to select and measure them. You can review how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and change your advertising settings at google.com/settings/ads.
Browser extension
Our Scrabble Word Finder extension for Chrome works when you click its icon, in the tab you have open. If you also press “Turn on” for Words With Friends, it works on the Words With Friends game page too, without a click: it removes ads and Zynga’s notice there, and when you play the game on our play page, it passes your game to that page so it can show your best moves. You can press “Turn off” in the extension at any time.
- It reads the letters on your rack, the letters on the board and the number of tiles left, where the game shows them, and sends those letters to this site to find words. It sends nothing else from the page: no account details, no messages, nothing from other tabs. It passes your game only to our own play page, never to other sites.
- The letters are used only to answer that request. Like any request to this site, it appears in the server logs described above.
- The extension does not set cookies, does not follow your browsing and does not show advertising.
- The Diagnostics button describes how the game page is laid out: the page address without its query part, the sizes and style names of page elements, numbers shown on the page (such as tile counts) and one sample tile letter. It collects no other text from the page. It copies that description to your clipboard and sends it nowhere unless you choose to send it to us.
Your choices
You can accept or decline advertising cookies using the banner shown on the site, change that choice later by clearing cookies, or use your browser’s privacy settings. If you want to ask what we hold about you, or ask us to remove something, write to us at the address below.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
