About this list
Grew from a different word collection than the Scrabble lists and carries its own additions. The overlap with Scrabble is large but far from complete, so a word valid here says nothing reliable about Scrabble.
Why we publish these numbers
Most word finders show you a dictionary without telling you which edition it came from or when it was last updated. That makes their answer impossible to check: if your opponent challenges a word, you cannot tell whether the tool was working from a list that is still current.
The two numbers worth comparing are how many words the published edition claims and how many we actually hold. When both are known and they disagree, that gap is real information — about our data, not about yours. We would rather show it than hide it.
Check a word against this list
