Scrabble Board

The game is played on a board size of 15 by 15 squares. In game play from 2 to 4 players. During the official game participated or two players or two teams each of which collaborates on a single rack.

The board is marked with "premium" squares, which multiply the number of points awarded:

• 8 dark red "triple-word" squares;
• 17 pale red "double-word" squares, of which one, the center square (H8), is marked with a star or other symbol;
• 12 dark blue "triple-letter" squares, and 24 pale blue "double-letter" squares.

In 2008, Hasbro changed the colors of the premium squares to orange for TW, red for DW, blue for DL, and green for TL, but the original premium square color scheme is still preferred for Scrabble boards used in tournaments.

The object of the game is to score as many points as possible, forming words. At each turn, the player can add one letter from the set of letters that are at his disposal, so that together with the new letter in the field formed a certain word or a few words. The number of points per word is equal to the sum of the points of all the letters in the word formed, taking into account the coefficients that depend on the field on which the letter is displayed. Letters give a different number of points - popular little, rare, such that it is difficult to form words - many. In the impossibility of forming a word, the player passes the course and has the right to change the letters that are at his disposal. The one who scored the most points wins.
